Fabriano: the ‘king’ of paper was an alpinist from the Apennine chain mountains

On 19th October 2016, ‘Fondazione G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA’ hosted the alpinist, reporter and writer about the mountains, Gian Luca Gasca, who is currently engaged in a traverse-project across the Apennines. His trek included a stop-over in Fabriano,  where he was able to visit ‘Fondazione G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA’ and ‘Accademia delle Arti Cartarie’  (Academy of Paper Arts) by Sandro Tiberi.

Gian Luca Guasca, has in fact, under the guide of the Coordinator of ‘Fondazione G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA’,  Mrs. Livia Faggioni,  had the chance to learn more about the history and paper heritage of Cartiere Miliani Fabriano, and in particular, to discover Mr. Giambattista Miliani, a genius, paper-manufacturer, politician as well as a great ALPINIST too...and hence the urge to write this interesting  article which has been published on www.montagna.tv.
