Casa Fedrigoni
The history of Verona and that of paper are two intertwined narratives that have been progressing together since at least 1888, when Giuseppe Antonio Fedrigoni founded the Fedrigoni Paper Mill next to the Camuzzoni canal. Today, the company is a global group, among the world's leaders in specialty papers for luxury packaging and other creative applications, in labels and self-adhesive materials. However, it is in Verona that it maintains its roots, in the core from which the destiny of a family that has accompanied the growth of the city, its culture, and its dreams, as well as the paper sector, has developed.
Many of these inspirations can now be revisited thanks to Casa Fedrigoni, the company's archive housed in the building where the Plant Director used to live, between Via Tombetta and Viale Piave. It has been reorganized, inventoried, described, and made accessible.
Now managed by the Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation on behalf of Fedrigoni SpA, the archive houses valuable items such as watermarks, photographs, books, and tools used in paper production and measurement. These treasures provide a comprehensive look at the development of production techniques and the company's growth over time.
The archive offers a journey through vintage photos, sample books, projects, administrative correspondence, laboratory instruments, matrices for dry and wet watermarking, punches, and over 80 molds for handmade paper production.
Additionally, the best artifacts presented at the Fedrigoni Top Award are on display. This international competition, held every two years, rewards the most original and innovative creations and projects born from the use of all types of Fedrigoni paper and labels. A specialized library on local history, paper technology, publishing, and printing history is also available.
