ISTOCARTA & the "Notte dei Ricercatori " 2016
‘Fondazione G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA’ participated in “La Notte Europea dei Ricercatori - SHARPER 2016” (European Night of Researchers) in Ancona on Friday 30th September 2016 at 5.00pm, – sharing Researchers' Passions for Engagement and Responsibility. The initiative promoted by the European Commission, is aimed at drawing people near to the world of research and is a result of the cooperation and support of national and local institutions , which are convinced of the leading role research can play in the development of the territory and in the growth of the whole country.
Various appointments dedicated to science, innovation and technology will start early in the afternoon and continue until late at night, with the goal of drawing people near to the world of research. Researchers from the Università Politecnica delle Marche will be the role-players of a programme rich in appointments to be held between piazza Roma and Corso Garibaldi, conceived to spreading and acquainting the large public with scientific culture.
ISTOCARTA will actively participate in the event with a booth set up in cooperation with the Dipartimento di Scienze economiche e sociali (Department of socio-economic sciences) (DiSES), proposing to the visitors a deeper study on ‘ I soldi di carta e la carta dei soldi’ (Paper bank-notes and bank-note paper). A brief history on banknotes and their manufacturing.
The event is part of an agreement stipulated between ISTOCARTA and the ‘Università Politecnica delle Marche’, which jointly financed a research-project focused on the first commercial expansion of ‘Cartiere Miliani’ paper-mill in Fabriano between XVIII and XIX century, edited by Dr. Marianna Astore, researcher at the ‘ Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche e Sociali’.
