Nano-systems: Research and Applications on Paper Cultural Heritage
The conference "Fabriano between History and Innovation: The Use of Nanomaterials in Paper Restoration," held in Fabriano on May 17 at the Miliani Paper Mill Complex, officially launched the workshop "Nano-systems: Research and Applications on Paper Cultural Heritage", curated by Antonio Mirabile (artwork restorer on paper, authorized by the French Ministry of Culture to restore items belonging to the Musées de France, and UNESCO Expert).
The workshop, reserved for professional restorers and promoted by the Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation in collaboration with Fedrigoni SpA, Stefania Zeppieri (Conservation and Restoration of Archival and Library Materials, Works of Art on Paper, and Related Artifacts), Antonio Mirabile (Paper Conservator), and GREen ENdeavor in Art ResToration (GREENART), took place from May 18 to 20 at the emerging Paper Conservation and Restoration Laboratory of the Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation, curated by Stefania Zeppieri. Three days of study to learn and delve into the least invasive and most innovative methods in paper restoration, namely nanomaterials and nanotechnologies.
The workshop was sponsored by the Municipality of Fabriano, the Marche Region, the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendency of the Marche, the Pia Università dei Cartai, and the Carifac Foundation.
