The conservation treatment of a collection of architectural and mechanical drawings from the Fedrigoni Paper Mill historical arc
The Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation is firmly committed to the conservation of valuable material in the historical archives of the Fedrigoni Group and here presents a short video of the treatment and preservation housing of a collection of twelve large architectural and mechanical drawings from the Fedrigoni Paper Mill in Verona. These important documentary drawings were taken down from the walls of the Archive headquarters where they had been on display for many years, and transferred to Fabriano in February of this year, for treatment in the Paper Conservation and Restoration Laboratory there. The Laboratory was established by the Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation and is organized by Conservator Stefania Zeppieri.
The treatments were carried out with careful attention to both paper supports and graphic media, and these remarkable drawings are now successfully restored to their original condition as closely as possible. High quality digital copies of the restored documents were created and are now attractively displayed in the previous location in the archive, while the original drawings are kept inside specially designed conservation folders in the archive of the Casa Fedrigoni.
