Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM, the Fondazione Fedrigoni Fabriano will present “C-ARTE. I segni della carta Fabriano nelle opere di Dante, Raffaello e Canova” ('C-ARTE. The Signs of Fabriano Paper in the Works of Dante, Raphael, and Canova'), curated by Livia Faggioni.
The Foundation continues its editorial work dedicated to Fabriano paper and watermarks with a new publication—actually, four volumes enclosed in a single box set. The project “C-Arte” (Vol. 1) explores the identity of paper through the works of three masters—Dante (Vol. 2), Raphael (Vol. 3), and Canova (Vol. 4)—highlighting the use and significance of Fabriano paper in the creative processes of some of the greatest figures in art, literature, and international culture.
The presentation of the editorial project will be entrusted to experts on the three distinguished figures and moderated by Stefano Salis, writer and journalist for Il Sole 24 Ore. Speaking about Dante Alighieri will be Prof. Marco Cursi, paleographer and professor at the University of Naples “Federico II”. For Raphael Sanzio, the contribution will come from Prof. Claudia La Malfa, art historian and professor at the American University of Rome. Regarding Antonio Canova, Prof. Paolo Mariuz will speak, member of the Scientific Committee of the Canova Foundation–Museum and Gypsotheca Antonio Canova, and secretary of the National Edition of the Works of Antonio Canova.
The event, promoted by the Foundation, is part of the program “Fabriano. Carta è cultura”, the festival organized by the Municipality of Fabriano, now in its third edition.
