The Fondazione Fedrigoni Fabriano Welcomes the Académie des savoir-faire by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès

The Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation had the honor of hosting the Académie des savoir-faire of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès. After exploring materials such as wood, earth, metal, textiles, glass, and stone, the renowned foundation of the French fashion brand Hermès launches the seventh edition of the Académie des savoir-faire, dedicated to paper and directed by designer Constance Guisset.

Every two years, the Académie des savoir-faire invites around twenty professionals to develop projects around a universal material, under the supervision of a leader in their field. With each edition, craftspeople, engineers and designers enhance their knowledge of the chosen material, exploring possible routes for innovation.

This year, the focus on paper brought the academics of the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès to Fabriano. During their two-day stay, they visited the Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation, exploring its rich paper heritage and attending a lecture by President Chiara Medioli-Fedrigoni on today's papers, in the showroom of Fabriano brand. The following day, the visit continued in the Tini Department of the Paper Mill, where master papermakers illustrated the various stages of manufacturing the fine papers still made by hand today, and in the highly secure Watermark Department with the mould machine.

This event not only highlights the importance of paper as a universal material but also confirms the central role of the Fondazione Fedrigoni Fabriano in artisanal excellence and the promotion of craftsmanship.
